The DUETRAS Story
DUETRAS began with a conversation that felt impossible to ignore. Between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, what started as a casual observation about beautiful but unforgiving shoes soon became a shared frustration. These were shoes made for an evening rather than an entire day, often demanding breaks, careful planning and a little recovery afterwards. It seemed almost absurd that something designed to make us feel good about how we look could so often leave us uncomfortable in how we feel.
Somewhere between shared frustration and shared humour, a simple question emerged: Why should style come at the cost of comfort? What followed was a shared desire to rethink everyday footwear and find a better balance between the way shoes look and the way they feel, creating something that could accompany us through the day without asking us to compromise one for the other. From that conversation, DUETRAS was born.

This idea of balance became the foundation of everything we set out to create. From silhouette and material to construction and finish, every choice was guided by the belief that comfort and style should never be competing priorities. We wanted to create footwear that felt as natural to wear as it looked, allowing people to move through their days with ease and confidence, without having to choose between how they feel and how they present themselves.
As we continued to explore what this balance meant, we began to see that the idea extended beyond footwear. It was rooted in something more familiar: the everyday moments that shape our lives, the things we reach for, carry with us, use in our homes and choose because they make life feel a little easier or more enjoyable. Whether it is something we wear or something that finds a place in our daily routines, the things around us should feel right for the way we live.
And so, the idea behind DUETRAS continues to grow. What began with a desire to bring style and comfort together in footwear is gradually finding expression in more aspects of everyday life, guided by the same appreciation for thoughtful design, practical choices and the small details that make a difference. Our beginnings remain an important part of who we are, even as we discover new ways to bring this philosophy into the things we choose to live with.
